"SL Taiju" is a steam locomotive that Tobu Railway restored and returned to service, running along the scenic route between Shimoimaichi and Kinugawa-Onsen stations. The sound of the whistle and the smoke rising from the locomotive as it runs offer a nostalgic railway experience.
Scenery along the way and station facilities
The train passes through the mountainous scenery of the Kinugawa area, offering different views depending on the season, including fresh greenery and autumn leaves. Some stations along the route are also maintained in a retro style reminiscent of the Showa era, making the journey itself an attraction.
