Yudaki Falls
湯滝
A waterfall flowing out from Lake Yunoko, with an upper drop of about 10 meters and a lower drop of about 70 meters, counted as one of Oku-Nikko's three great waterfalls together with Kegon Falls and Ryuzu Falls. An observation deck near the base lets visitors experience the falls' powerful spray up close.
One of Oku-Nikko's three great waterfalls
Fed by the outflow of Lake Yunoko, the water first drops about 10 meters over a steep slope, then plunges roughly 70 meters down a rock face in a two-stage waterfall. Together with Kegon and Ryuzu Falls, it's counted as one of Oku-Nikko's three great waterfalls, and its powerful presence, close enough to feel the mist on the observation deck, is a highlight.
An easily accessible observation deck
An observation deck stands near the base of the falls, requiring only a short walk from the parking area, making it an easy stop for people of all ages, from children to seniors. The impact of viewing the falls up close from directly in front is different from viewing it from a distance.
A stop along the Senjogahara-Yunoko hiking course
The falls also lie along the popular hiking course connecting Senjogahara, Yudaki, and Lake Yunoko, making them a convenient stop to combine with a hike. Yudaki Onsen, near the falls, is also known for its milky-white hot spring.
