Yokohama Museum of Art
横浜美術館
A large-scale art museum in the Minato Mirai 21 district. Its symmetrical exterior, designed by architect Kenzo Tange, is striking, and it hosts collection exhibitions and large-scale special exhibitions of modern and contemporary art from Japan and abroad. It reopened in February 2025 after approximately four years of full closure for renovation.

Opened in 1989, the museum's symmetrical Grand Gallery, designed by architect Kenzo Tange, offers a sense of openness. The building comprises collection exhibition rooms, special exhibition rooms, an atelier, and a library. It fully reopened in 2025 following roughly four years of large-scale renovation.
Special exhibitions of modern and contemporary art
The museum holds a collection centered on modern and contemporary Japanese and international art, and hosts noteworthy special exhibitions throughout the year. During exhibition changeovers, only some facilities (such as the cafe and shop) may be open, so it's recommended to check the exhibition schedule before visiting.
