Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse

横浜赤レンガ倉庫

A commercial and cultural facility repurposed from a former customs warehouse built in the late Meiji to early Taisho era. Building No. 1 houses cultural facilities and a hall, while Building No. 2 is centered on shops and restaurants. At night, it is lit up in orange, making it one of Yokohama's premier night-view spots.

A complex built around historic architecture

The bonded warehouses, completed in 1911 (Building No. 1) and 1913 (Building No. 2), were renovated into commercial and cultural facilities in 2002. The red-brick exteriors were preserved while the interiors were remodeled, allowing visitors to enjoy shopping and events while sensing the atmosphere of the past.

Night views and event plaza

The "Akarenga Park" in front of the buildings hosts seasonal events such as Christmas markets and beer festivals. At night, the illuminated red brick combined with the Minato Mirai skyline across the water creates a popular photo spot.
