Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal
横浜港大さん橋国際客船ターミナル
An international passenger ship terminal where cruise ships dock, yet its rooftop plaza "Kujira no Senaka" (Whale's Back) is a free, 24-hour observation spot. From the wooden deck reminiscent of a ship's deck, visitors can take in a 360-degree panorama of the Minato Mirai skyline and the Bay Bridge.
The rooftop plaza "Kujira no Senaka"
This rooftop plaza features a curved wooden deck reminiscent of a whale's back, and has been known as a symbolic piece of architecture for Yokohama Port since its completion in 2002. Because it juts out into the sea, it offers sweeping views of the Minato Mirai skyline, the giant Ferris wheel, Marine Tower, and the Yokohama Bay Bridge, with Mt. Fuji and the Tokyo Skytree visible on clear days.
You might catch a passenger ship arriving or departing
On days when a large cruise ship docks, visitors can view it up close. Departure ceremonies are sometimes held, offering a chance to witness a special scene if the timing works out.
