Sailing Ship Nippon Maru & Yokohama Port Museum

A complex consisting of the Nippon Maru Memorial Park, which preserves and displays the training sailing ship Nippon Maru—known as the "Swan of the Pacific"—and the Yokohama Port Museum, which introduces the history of Yokohama Port. Visitors can tour the deck and interior of the Nippon Maru, moored in the former No. 1 Dock of the Yokohama Dockyard.
The Swan of the Pacific, the sailing ship Nippon Maru
Completed in 1930, this training sailing ship logged a total training voyage distance equivalent to 45.4 laps around the earth. With all 29 sails unfurled, it was nicknamed the "Swan of the Pacific," and it is now moored and preserved at the Nippon Maru Memorial Park. The bridge, crew quarters, and other interior spaces are also open for viewing.
Yokohama Port Museum
This museum introduces the history of Yokohama Port since the port opened, as well as the mechanics of container logistics, using models and video displays. A combination ticket with the Nippon Maru is commonly used for admission.
